PROJECT SCOPE

To re-design the kitchen and main bathroom in a 1930’s family home, infusing style and classic detailing into spaces that need to function and flow for a busy, growing family.

YEAR

2023

LOCATION

Karori, Wellington

Existing period Features in the home called for a kitchen & bathroom design that complimented that detailing just-so.

The small, original kitchen and dining room were opened up to create a light-filled, family friendly space that flows from the living room at one end, to the new bifold doors to the landscaped exterior at the other.

A laundry-come-butler’s pantry was added to create a functional zone that can be both easily accessed, and closed off - allowing the main kitchen to retain an air of spaciousness and calm, free from clutter and laundry spill-over.

Crisp whites, smoky greys and charcoals set the base colour palette in both areas - allowing classic profiles and materials to sing, infused with subtle contemporary detailing such as flush fitted power points, negative recessed lines, and curved mirror corners.

The engineered stone and stainless steel worktops are hardwearing and durable, lacquered cabinet faces make cleaning a breeze.

Careful consideration of appliance placement and ample storage mean these spaces will have longevity and usability for this young growing family for years to come.
